CDL Personnel
Working together to support children’s learning and development
Collaborative Learning
All paid staff at the MU Child Development Lab (CDL) are part of the Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) within the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). In addition to this core team, MU work-study students, practicum students, volunteers, and other students regularly spend time in the classrooms, providing valuable one-on-one interactions with children.
This collaborative model allows the CDL to meet a wide range of family and child needs while also serving as a hands-on learning environment for college students across campus who are preparing for careers working with young children.
Each classroom is led by a highly qualified teacher with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science, Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field. Teachers also bring extensive experience with their specific age group and play an active role in mentoring college students.
All full-time CDL teachers are certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid and have completed comprehensive federal and state criminal background checks.
