Virginia Gwyn, MEd

Child Development Teacher – Purple Door

Virginia Gwyn received her bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University. After graduation Virginia moved to Texas and taught elementary for 5 years. During this time she earned her Masters in Education Administration from Concordia University. She then served as an instructional specialist for four years. In 2016, she started her career as first an assistant principal for two years and then principal for two years on an elementary school campus. In 2019, she moved into the role of principal at Lillie J. Jackson Early Childhood Center for Lewisville ISD. During this time her campus earned the national distiction from Solution Tree for being a Professional Learning Community Model school. Tree. She was named Elementary Principal of the Year for Lewisville ISD in 2022. In August 2025, she relocated to Columbia, Missouri due to her husband joining the softball coaching staff for Mizzou. Virginia is currently the lead teacher in the new Purple Door classroom.
